The park's oceanside campsites are spacious and sandy, and just a short stroll on the boardwalk past the dunes to the beach. After setting up camp, set off on a hike to catch a glimpse of the island's famed wild ponies, collect seashells or play in the surf. At Assateague Island you can feel the sand under your feet -- and under your sleeping bag, too! Ranked Best National Park Camping by the Travel Channel.
